South Dakota 2006 EQIP InformationThe Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) is a voluntary conservation program that provides technical and financial assistance to eligible farmers and ranchers to address their natural resource concerns on eligible agricultural land. EQIP promotes agricultural production and environmental quality while optionizing environmental benefits. EQIP was reauthorized in the 2002 Farm Bill and is administered by the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). This program allows for flexibility of contract length, contract amount, and special consideration for Limited Resource Producers and Beginning Farmers and Ranchers. Application DeadlineEQIP applications are accepted throughout the year; however, the cut-off date for Fiscal Year (FY) 2006 funding consideration is November 10, 2005. Applications received after November 10, 2005, will be considered for funding in FY2007.
